About Satya Mehta

Satya Mehta is an Ahmedabad-based entrepreneur building the services that house and feed India’s students and employees. He is co-founder and CEO of RoomPe, a B2B student-housing company that runs hostels for universities and colleges, and co-founder and Chief Business Officer of MealPe, which provides software and hardware for institutional food services. Within RoomPe he also operates KhanePe, an institutional catering company, and StayPe, a boutique hospitality and managed-accommodation company.

His first eight years of work were in education: corporate affairs at the Sunflower Group of schools in Rajkot, marketing at Shanti Educational Initiatives, and nearly five years at Endeavor Careers, where he moved from assistant manager to national sales manager for UG products. In 2020 he co-founded RoomPe and founded APTIQoaching, a test-preparation and study-abroad advisory company he has since sold. He also co-founded Stellars School, which focused on student profile building, and led it as director until 2024.

Since 2020 he has practised as an independent career counsellor, advising school and college students on stream, branch and subject choices, entrance examinations and university applications in India and abroad. He has mentored founders at CHARUSAT and elsewhere, sat on the Faculty of Management Studies board at Marwadi University as an alumni representative, and taught Kutchi to the Gujarat Police as visiting faculty.

Satya holds a BBA in marketing from Kadi Sarva Vishwavidyalaya and an MBA in marketing from Gujarat Technological University, has qualified UGC-NET in management, and is studying law at Gujarat University. He co-authored The Way Up with Sanket Bhatia. Originally from Nakhatrana in Kutch, he calls himself a full-time Kutchi and part-time Amdavadi.
